Volunteering

We all have God given talents that we can use in our lives and the life of the Church.  St Peter’s has volunteering opportunities in all aspects of church life.

There are roles in our worship (e.g. servers, welcomers, coffee makers, readers, choristers and more).

There are roles in our ministry (e.g. supporting junior church and youth work, helping with bible study, pastoral care team, heritage and welcome roles during the week, volunteering with one of our partner organisations such as The Welcome Centre, The Mission or Conscious Youth).

There are roles supporting events (e.g. hospitality for concerts and large services, supporting educational visits and interfaith events).

Excitingly, there are roles that we haven’t even thought of yet – because God is bringing those things into being through you, and all the unique and gifted people who are called to be part of this community.

Our hope is that everyone who feels drawn to worship as Christian community here will find an opportunity to live that Christian identity through participation in the life of the community. It may be something big, it may be something small.  You may find yourself drawn to engage in the life of the church in a particular way, or inspired by what you hear and experience in church to engage with the charities, partner organisations or wider Church of England structures we are part of.

If you would like to know more about any particular role, or if you would like to speak to someone about what opportunities there may be, please contact the office to arrange an informal chat with one of the HPC team.
