James Battye – Choral Evensong

“My soul truly waiteth for the Lord.” An anthem written by James Battye (1803-1858), a founder member of Huddersfield Choral Society and a parish clerk at Huddersfield Parish Church.  The anthem was sung as part of Choral Evensong and an eclectic group of singers came together to perform the piece.

Guest Preacher for Evensong.

Sunday 17 January at 3pm our Choral evensong is graced with the presence and preaching of the Rev’d David Earl. A quiet service held in the choirs stalls, the normal congregation number 20 individuals. Collect the books from the door and make your way into the chancel area.
