Lent Thoughts.

The booklet of ‘Thoughts and Prayers’ was written for the local churches in the Huddersfield Deanery by local parish clergy. It is designed, alongside other resources, to enable congregations to participate actively during Lent.
Alongside someone’s daily prayer each ‘thought’ has the potential to stimulate your own study of the readings for any given Sunday. The day by day contemplation might be used in a house group setting or for private prayer and study.
It is hoped that the Sunday readings are read as a reference and then some time of quiet used before using the thought and guided reflection.
On Ash Wednesday Lenten is observed through:  “self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy word.”
May Lent 2017 answer that part of your Christian calling.
