Advent at HPC – Waiting together and exploring our faith

During Advent in the church we make time to think about what it means that God came into the world as a human being, as Jesus, God with us.

We think about how our lives reflect God’s love and how we invite God into our lives, our relationships and our communities.

We do this in lots of different ways – some quiet, reflective, penitential – and some ways which are more about fellowship – being together as God’s family.

Bible Study

No knowledge required! Our online bible study group (currently using Zoom), meeting on Nov 30th, dec 7th, 14th & 21st are reading and talking about Freedom is Coming by Bishop Nick Baines. The group is friendly and informal. We start and end with prayer. In between is thoughtfulness, sharing, sadness and laughter as we explore who God is together. The book has a short reading and prayer in it for every day from Advent through to Epiphany and is a great read and support to faith whether or not you can come to the group.

Encompass – Bible & Friendship Group

Encompass meet at 1.30pm on Wednesdays following on from our midweek communion service (12.35pm in church and on Facebook live). This diverse and friendly group share lunch once a month and explore the bible together in a friendly, supportive and open way. All are welcome.
