The University of Huddersfield, the accountancy firms of Simpson Wood, Sheards, Michael Bell and Co, Wheatwill and Sudworth, Paramount and Gibson Booth have all contributed to the Huddersfield Town Sponsored Carol Service at Huddersfield Parish Church.
Under the umbrella of the Huddersfield and District Society of Chartered Accountants St. Peter’s Church plays host to this popular expression of the festive season.
The Mayor of Kirklees, Councillor Jim Dodds will be present and the proceedings are aided by Marsden Silver Band, the award winning Lindley Junior School Choir and the Parish Church’s own Stephen Smith on the church organ.
Rev’d Canon Simon Moor of Huddersfield Parish Church commented – “This traditional event leading up to Christmas is a real gem, our civic church is full, people arriving early to claim a good seat for the 1pm start.”
Canon Moor continued: “The Accountant’s Society arrange the readers and invite the choir and band, both of whom see this service as an important part of their Christmas programme. Why the band conductor for the day travels all the way from South Wales to take part!”
