Huddersfield Parish Church once more played its role as the Civic Church of Kirklees, this time by hosting Hustings for the General Election.

All 6 candidates for the Huddersfield Constituency took the opportunity to address the voters. Over 90 people attended with many of them asking questions of the candidates.

With emotions occasionally running high the debate was lively, and the Bishop of Huddersfield, as chair, was needed to hold a firm grip on proceedings.

St Peter’s is proud to welcome all people, and so it was fitting that candidates and supporters of all 6 parties who are standing were present and had a voice.

There will be another Hustings run by a Huddersfield Church which New North Road Baptist Church will host on Wednesday 29^th April.
