Tuesday 28th October at 3.15 pm two student from the Islamic Society of Huddersfield University telephoned requiring a space at short notice for an event that had been organised and then the venue unavailable at the ninth hour.
That evening, we welcomed two speakers who lectured a gathered group of 300 students and friends, as well as raising some money for a ‘Orphans’ Charity.
The main guest speaker was an American from the state of Texas – Yusuf Estes. His style was that of a southern preacher of old and was specific in his teaching of Islam as a peaceful calling.
As Vicar I was entranced and impressed with his theme and his teaching.
