The 2013 British Town Crier Championships to be staged in Huddersfield this weekend – the first time the event has been staged in Yorkshire.

On Sunday morning Huddersfield Parish Church will welcome then gathered criers as guests.

The championship, on Saturday, September 28, will involve 25 town criers and their wives or partners coming to Huddersfield from places as diverse as Liverpool, Bridlington, Colchester and Banbury.
