Sat with the ‘Precious’ on my knee and listening to the Huddersfield Philharmonic in St.Peter’s. I have never reported live – though I often type at my desk with music playing.
Live music cannot be beaten, whether a live band in pub or an orchestra in a church.
Spent the afternoon preparing a toilet to paint and listening to the rehearsal, so I have heard most of the repertoire. Really beautiful!
The opening piece was ‘Arrival of the Queen of Sheba’ by Handel. It was the piece of music that Caro arrived into church with on our wedding day. We used to play it together on the piano when first married. I played the pedal notes while Caro tried to master the simple twiddly bits – all but overtaking my one fingered piano playing.
Some really soothing music – plenty of shade and light.
