Huddersfield Church Choir was back in harness as well as a number of other students returning to the town and Sunday morning service at St. Peter’s.

A fair number of HMS Gambia Association members were dotted around the congregation,  as well as the Mayor of Huddersfield – Councillor David Ridgway and members of the Royal British Legion being in attendance.

The service began with the procession of choir and clergy and the reception of three separate standards. After the intercessions the ’Exhortation’ and a minutes silence was observed for those who had served on HMS Gambia.

It was a good day to welcome guests from Huddersfield, from all over Britain and beyond.
