This Sunday Evening, 5th February at 6.30pm, why not come along to Choral Evensong?

This form of service predates the reformation, in the monastic tradition of the office prayers. We use a Book of Common Prayer format with sung responses. Along with sung canticles, hymns and an anthem, this is a service where you can just sit and contemplate, or join in the congregation parts. There are readings for the day, prayers and a short address which complete the service.

St. Peter’s choir is made up of students from the University of Huddersfield and some parish members. The music set for this evensong is an ongoing project, the choir’s contribution is growing as their repertoire expands.
